The Ghana Chamber of Mines has conveyed its sincere congratulations to President-Elect John Dramani Mahama on his re-election as President of the Republic of Ghana.
The Chamber articulated the significance of Mahama’s historic achievement as Ghana’s first non-consecutive President, characterising it as a reflection of his unwavering resilience and the confidence Ghanaians place in his vision and leadership capabilities.
The Chamber reiterated its dedication to working alongside the Mahama administration to cultivate a sustainable and prosperous mining sector.
“As you commence your second term in office, the Ghana Chamber of Mines is prepared to assist your administration in cultivating a prosperous and sustainable mining industry.” We are steadfast in our dedication to collaborating with your government to guarantee that the mining sector persists as a fundamental pillar of Ghana’s economic advancement,” the statement articulated.
It highlighted the capacity of the mining sector to catalyse economic transformation during Mahama’s tenure by fostering job creation, facilitating skills and technology transfer, advancing infrastructure development, and enhancing the welfare of mining communities.
The Chamber conveyed a hopeful outlook regarding the enactment of policies that harmonise economic advancement with environmental stewardship and social accountability, all while fostering investment and enhancing local capabilities.
The Ghana Chamber of Mines, representing more than 60% of the nation’s mineral production, has committed to endorsing initiatives that promote the long-term sustainability of the mining sector for the advantage of all Ghanaians.
The Chamber ultimately expressed its hopes for President-elect Mahama to achieve great success as he embarks on his second term in office.
“With your guidance, we are assured that the sector’s capabilities will be more effectively utilised to promote employment opportunities, facilitate the transfer of skills and technology, enhance infrastructure, and improve the overall welfare of communities throughout the nation.”

The member companies account for more than 60 percent of Ghana’s mineral production. The Chamber has advocated for the industry’s interests since 1928.
