With the exception of the GC models, Caterpillar is extending Cat Command for Loading to all medium wheel loaders. Command for Loading, which aims to improve operational safety in hazardous areas, provides semi-autonomous remote control of next generation Cat 950-982 wheel loaders, removing the operator from the machine.
Extension of remote operation: Cat Command for Loading now works with the following next-generation wheel loaders: Cat 950, 962, 966, 966 XE, 972, 972 XE, 980, 980 XE, 982, and 982 XE.
Improved safety: Cat Command maintains high machine productivity in working conditions such as demolition, environmental cleanup, stevedoring, and the handling of fertiliser, chips, and sawdust by enabling the user to comfortably operate the machine from a secure place.
Options for remote operation: Both line-of-sight and non-line-of-sight configurations are available.
Complete integration: Connected to the loader’s hydraulic and electronic systems for seamless operation and fast reaction.
Flexible control: Makes it simple to switch between manual and remote in-cab operations.
Complete command gear is supplied in a dealer-installed package that includes a low-profile design for the loader’s roof that eliminates the need for wire splicing and soldering.
Ergonomic console: The ergonomic console control structure makes it simple to access basic machine controls, including lift/lower, bucket rack/dump, and wheel loader startup/shutdown. From the command console, operator inputs are transmitted straight to the machine’s electronics.
Safety features: When the A-stop or remote shutdown switch is pressed, wireless connectivity is lost, a serious malfunction is detected, or the command console is tilted more than 45 degrees from its usual working position, integrated safety measures stop all wheel loader movements.
Command station: The Command for Loading station connects to several machines at the same job site or at various locations for non-line-of-sight operation. One machine at a time can be operated by the user on-site or remotely. It works with other Command products for Cat machinery, such as dozers and excavators.
