Canadian gold company IAMGOLD has named senior mining executive Catherine McLeod-Seltzer to its Board of Directors, effective September 1, 2026. The move strengthens the company’s governance as it expands its portfolio of mining operations and expansion projects.
McLeod-Seltzer has over four decades of experience in the mining business. She has held executive and board positions at several significant mining companies, including creating and heading Arequipa Resources and Peru Copper, as well as chairing or directing Lucara Diamond and Bear Creek Mining. In 2026, she was inducted into the Canadian Mining Hall of Fame in recognition of her services to the industry.
According to IAMGOLD Chair David Smith, her combination of executive leadership, capital markets expertise, and considerable board experience will allow the firm to strengthen its operating base and seek future growth prospects.
The appointment comes as IAMGOLD continues to grow its production profile, which is backed by operations at the Côté Gold, Westwood, and Essakane mines, as well as exploration projects in Canada.
