The 980E-5SE’s 400-ton hauling capability and electric drive technologies demonstrate the size and inventiveness of Komatsu’s Peoria team.”From our work in electric-drive haulage to technologies that support low-emission mining, this site represents our commitment to creating value together with our customers, employees, and community for generations to come,” stated Dan Funcannon, senior vice president, Surface Haulage, Komatsu. “Peoria has long been home to some of the most talented manufacturing and engineering professionals in our industry, and this new facility reflects the important role our team plays in advancing the future of mining.”
Every day, manufacturers improve the world, and Komatsu is setting an example,” stated Mark Denzler, president and CEO of the Illinois Manufacturers’ Association. “Komatsu is constructing massive mining machinery while simultaneously lowering environmental effects and promoting sustainability using cutting-edge new technology developed in central Illinois. We are pleased that Komatsu is expanding on its long-standing dedication to Peoria while providing services to clients worldwide.
For their efforts in making the new facility possible, Komatsu is appreciative of project partners like EUA and P.J. Hoerr.
